SASSA Payment Dates for April 2024

SASSA has officially announced the payment schedule for April 2024. Below is the complete schedule for all grant types.

Payment Method Details

SASSA Gold Card Holders

If you receive your grant through a SASSA Gold Card, you can access your funds on the specified dates at:

• Any ATM (bank charges may apply)
• Participating retailers (Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Boxer, Usave, etc.)
• Post Office branches

Bank Account Recipients

If your grant is paid directly into your bank account, funds will be available on the first day of the payment cycle for your grant type. The money will be available in your account on:

• April 3, 2024: Older Person’s Grants
• April 4, 2024: Disability Grants
• April 5, 2024: Child Support and other grants

Post Office Collections

For those collecting at Post Office branches, the following alphabetical system will be used to reduce crowding:

After these dates, you can collect your grant on any day during the payment cycle.

Important Notes

• Early Collection: You can only collect your grant from the date specified for your grant type, not before.
• Late Collection: Grants not collected in April will remain available for up to 90 days.
• ID Requirement: Always bring your South African ID when collecting your grant.
• Public Holidays: Despite the Easter holidays in April, the payment schedule remains unchanged.
• Proof of Life: Older Person’s Grant and Disability Grant recipients may be asked to provide proof of life during collection.

SRD R350 Grant Special Notice

The R350 SRD Grant payments for April 2024 will be processed from April 10 onwards. Recipients will receive an SMS notification when their payment is ready for collection. Remember that SRD payments can be collected at:

• Pick n Pay
• Boxer
• Shoprite
• Checkers
• USave
• Approved spaza shops
• Post Offices

New Option: Recipients can now also choose to have their SRD Grant paid directly into their bank account by updating their banking details on the SRD.SASSA.GOV.ZA portal.

2. Avoid peak times like the first day of payment or early mornings
3. Keep your PIN secure and never share it with anyone
4. Report lost cards immediately to SASSA at 0800 60 10 11
5. Beware of scammers targeting grant recipients at collection points

What to Do If You Don’t Receive Your Payment

If you don’t receive your payment on the scheduled date:

1. Check your payment status on the SASSA website or app
2. Call the SASSA helpline: 0800 60 10 11
3. Visit your nearest SASSA office if the issue persists

May 2024 Preview

The May 2024 payment schedule will be announced in late April. Based on previous patterns, payments will likely begin on May 2, 2024, but please check our website for confirmed dates closer to the time.
