Confirmed SASSA Grant Payment Dates for April 2026

SAnews reported on March 23, 2026 that SASSA released the official 2026/2027 payment schedule after National Treasury approval. These are the confirmed dates for the first month of the new financial year.

Confirmed Payment Dates for April 2026

Important Note: These dates are confirmed for the main SASSA grants. The SRD R370 window remains an estimate, and you must check your status for your exact payment date.

What This Means for SRD R370 Beneficiaries

If you receive the SRD grant, do not assume you will be paid on 2, 7, or 8 April. The SRD system still assigns pay days individually, so you need to check your own result in the status portal.

What To Do After Checking the April Dates

1. Confirm Your Status

If your grant is approved, your next step is to confirm whether SASSA has assigned a pay day or whether more checks are still running.

2. Watch for Review Notices

Some beneficiaries can be moved to a fourth payment day if SASSA needs to complete a review first. That does not automatically mean your grant has been cancelled, but it does mean you should respond quickly if SASSA contacts you.

3. Fix Payment Details Early

If you changed phones, banks, or payment methods recently, update those details before the April cycle becomes urgent. Last-minute changes are one of the easiest ways to create avoidable payment delays.
