Step 1: Check Your Application Status
Knowing the payment date is only half the story. You must ensure your grant is approved for August 2025.
- For SRD R370: An approved status will show a specific pay day. If your status is “Pending” or “Declined,” you will not be paid.

Step 2: Understand Your Payment Method
How you get your money determines when it will be available.
- Bank Account (Recommended): Funds will appear in your account on the morning of the payment date. This is the safest and fastest method.
- Retail Outlets (Pick n Pay, Shoprite, Boxer, Checkers): If you collect your SRD grant at a retailer, you must wait for an SMS confirming that your funds are ready for collection. Do not go to the store before receiving the SMS.
- SASSA/Postbank Card: Funds are available on the day of payment, but be aware of potential queues at ATMs.
