Important Note: The three main grant dates are confirmed by SASSA. The SRD R370 window is an estimate based on previous months, so you must check your status for your exact payment date.
Heritage Day (Thursday, 24 September 2026) is a public holiday. Banks and SASSA offices are closed, so SRD batches expected around that date usually reflect from Friday, 25 September.
How To Use the September 2026 Schedule
If You Receive an Older Person’s, Disability, or Child-Related Grant
Use the first three dates above. Your money stays in your account after the payment date, so you do not need to rush to collect it on the first day. If the payment did not reflect, confirm that your grant is active and that SASSA has the correct payment and contact details.
If SASSA Selected Your Grant for Review
SASSA has been using a fourth business day for main grants that are flagged for review or life certification (in August this was 7 August). Watch for an SMS on the number registered with SASSA, and complete any requested office visit or document check so your grant is not suspended.
If You Receive the SRD Grant
SRD R370 does not use the fixed dates above. Payments are made in batches, usually in the last week of the month. Your exact pay day appears only once your September month shows Approved with a payment date in your status result.
Before You Go to the Shop or ATM
- Submit changes to your banking details or payment method before the 19th of the month to avoid delays.
- SASSA never asks for your PIN, OTP or banking password by SMS, WhatsApp or phone.
- The SRD grant is R370 per month. Posts claiming it has increased are false unless SASSA announces it.
